Alma Collection

The alma Collection is crafted from spalted maple- a material which, until recently, was often tossed out by lumber companies due to it’s inherent regularities.

The spalting is caused by an early fungal decay process happening throughout the log. The process is halted by kiln-drying, and the resulting effect is a snapshot in time of dueling fungal colonies at work inside the lumber. This material is truly one-of-a-kind.
